Hi guys!
I've talked before about how I am trying to use my phone less and one part of that is to reduce my time scrolling through addictive algorithms (because boy do they work on me!). So, I have been rediscovering long form YouTube content again! I forgot how much great stuff is available for free on there!
I made a list of all the TV shows I found (like the Moomins, Who Do You Think You Are and Dance Academy), which you can find here!
Today I am sharing a list of my current favorite channels. If you are new here, the vibe is: slow living, educational, low stimulation, cosy, authentic and I don't enjoy things like overconsumption, constant optimalization and dramatization! If that's the vibe you are looking for as well, I hope you can find something on this list!

1. The Sorry Girls : Interior design, DIY's and room make-overs
I am a sucker for a good room make-over, but program's like that often rely on lots of consumption and lots of advertisements of the stuff used. Not with The Sorry Girls! Their channel is focused on showing make-overs where
DIY's, upcycles, hacks and thrifted items are the stars of the show! I especially love their make-overs of challenging spaces like hallways or studio apartments that you rarely see tackled elsewhere. It's always
realistic, they explain their choices (so you can learn from what they do for your own projects!) and they have an awesome team, who create in detail video's of the custom builds/DIY's so you can recreate them!
Let me introduce you to my favorite journalism series on YouTube, On the Job by Priya Krishna. Each episode she looks at the people behind the food being eaten everyday, from hospital food to the popcorn in a stadium! The storytelling of this series is just marvelous and the people who get the spotlight always have an interesting story to tell, that you'd otherwise never hear! I also really like Priya's hosting style, it's calm, non dramatic but also full of empathy and genuine curiosity.
I have followed Steffy on Instagram for as long as I can remember! There are very few influencers whose content I have enjoyed for so long. And her vlogs are no different! She is focused on seasonal living, decorating, DIY and generally a cosy lifestyle. Her vlogs are almost nostalgic to me of old school vlogging, they are not overedited and she talks to the camera as if we are friends catching up over coffee. Her vlogs are great for a little boost of inspiration and a cosy break during my day!
Morgan makes beautiful video blogs about her life without it becoming pretentious or too film-y. She is funny and thoughtful, which makes for a very cosy and entertaining combination! Her video's are often around 20 minutes, which is probably my favorite length of video to watch as a break or during a small chore.
Morgan deals with anxiety on her channel as well, in a very authentic not emotionally taxing way, if that makes sense! If you deal with chronic illness, mental disorders or anything like that, I think these vlogs are greatly comforting!
Abi is an English comedian who, for a couple of years now, vlogs her experience at the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival + the occasional random vlog. I love seeing the behind the scenes chaos and Abi is just an endlessly entertaining person. I'm convinced she could vlog a day sitting on the couch all day and I'd still have a great time watching!
I'm not one to keep up with pop culture much, but it turns out that I do enjoy being told about it, if Ashley is telling the story. She recaps bizarre seasons of reality television, celebrity drama and pop culture legends. I appreciate that she does this all from a place of fun storytelling, not in an attempt to dramatize things that are, at their core, just silly.
