Hi guys!  I've talked before about how I am trying to use my phone less and one part of that is to reduce my time scrolling through addictive algorithms (because boy do they work on me!). So, I have been rediscovering long form YouTube content again! Constantly rising prices, Ai generated content, great shows getting cancelled after a season or my favorite rewatches suddenly disappearing from the platform completely; modern streaming is not the joy I once thought it would be! Besides making the change back to DVD (I will not rely on streaming services for my fall Gilmore Girls rewatch anymore!) I also decided to venture into a free, legal option for entertainment: YouTube. Perhaps, like me, you have watched a sketchy upload of a movie on there before, but did you know there is totally legal TV on there as well? It turns out many companies are uploading old shows in full, on YouTube, for us to watch for free! Everything is better with a bit of a theme.  I really believe that. It can make boring things more exciting, even on the tightest budget!  Last summer, when I was stuck at home being sick for months, I had what I called my Old Single White Man Summer . I got very invested in a football team (so deeply that I might be an AFC Wimbledon fan for life) and tried a bunch of different types of (non-alcoholic) beer. I also dove into the concept of the one person microwavable meal. Surprisingly delicious actually! My summer went from a forgettable couple of months of being sick, to an experience I don't think I'll forget anytime soon. I love a Hallmark Christmas movie around December and when September comes around I start craving a Gilmore Girls rewatch. After creating a list of my favorite autumn TV shows, I figured I should make another list with my favorite spring/summer TV shows! I'm a big fan of true crime podcasts. I get into a story and listen to a whole season within a day. Interesting cases, interesting interviews, I can hardly get enough! But, there are days where I want someone to tell me a riveting story where no one dies. Maybe you do too?
